Good Morning KSC!
It's that time of year again to talk about our two favorite things. The Ski Swap and the Learn to Ski Program. We have big changes for the Ski Swap this year and I will get to that in a bit. First, let's talk about the ski program and its changes. I have opened registration on the website and will be updating the website over the next couple of days with the important dates. I will also outline the big ones below.
As everyone knows last year was a big hit moving to Blacktail Ski Area. It was so refreshing to be welcomed there with arms wide open. I want to, again, give a huge shout-out to all the Blacktail Staff. There were some bumps in the road figuring everything out at first, but all in all, it went great! We are going to continue offering Saturday lessons this year. The times are going to be a bit earlier, starting at 1:30 instead of 2, and ending at 3:30. This will allow us more time over on Crystal Lift before it closes and give us much more teaching terrain. We will be offering our standard levels of skiing up to 4 and ages up to 12 again. There will be some smaller tweaks to where we will be meeting but I will advise everyone as it gets closer to the start date. Our start date will be January 13th.
We are always looking for volunteers to help run the classes and teach or assist. This year, again, we will be offering anyone who helps all season a FREE season pass to Blacktail. Our clinic day this year will be December 16th, snow-willing. This is a mandatory training day for all volunteers. This is a bit earlier than usual, but with the way Christmas fell, it was the best time. So hopefully we will have snow by then.
The Ski Swap is fast approaching, and everyone knows what that means. It's time to get that gear out, test what still fits, and get ready to fight the crowds to get gear…….
But wait…. What if I told you didn’t have to fight the crowds anymore?
Well, we have made BIG changes to the ski swap this year. We are going to open up on Friday night for a snow party. Everyone who has a current pass to Blacktail or is a current member of KSC will get in for free to the presale. Non-members will be allowed to “Duck the Rope” for a $10 per person or $20 per family trespass fee.
The Sale will go from 6 pm to 9 pm on Friday the 6th of October. We’re hoping to have food trucks on site, ski movies playing inside with lots of music, and free swag! It's looking like we will be doing ski waxing for a donation to MARS race team and all kinds of great things. It's going to be the party of the fall.
Saturday, October 7th will still be our normal, free entry sale as always. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. There will be no Sunday sale this year. Consignments can be dropped off Friday the 6th as usual from noon to 6 pm, but we will be also taking them Thursday the 5th from 6 to 8 pm. As always, we will have everything needed to mark and sell your winter gear.
There is so much more to talk about, but this email is already getting long. We are looking at getting volunteers lined out this year again for the swap and like last year anyone who volunteers 4 or more hours will get 15% off all purchases at the swap. To sign up check out our website for an updated link.
I am super happy the days are getting cooler, and we can start thinking about snow and skiing. Let's all hope for a deep snow year and a healthy sale to help propel us into the ski season! Keep an eye out for more updates on the swap and sign those kids up early, starting today!
Thanks KSC for another great year!
